This piece called Ash on Ice is one of the many donations that The Ash Tree Project accepts in order to build a more diverse catalogue for The Ash Archive, our document collection in relation to the ash tree.
The transparent resin that covers this small log, protects and prevents the slice of tree from deterioration, and makes the object more manipulable. This intervention creates a new but artificial tree bark, a visual proof of the delicate state of the ash tree, which trunk is infected. All around our country, this species is becoming more of a preserved relic than a living being, due to the increasing number of dying trees and wood cutting.
